Official Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. MAKING A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

1. Overview

Please read these official rules (the “Official Rules”) carefully. They contain important information about your rights and obligations, as well as limitations and exclusions that may apply to you if you enter the Galbraith Literary Publishers Who Killed Jerusalem? Prize Draw (the “Prize Draw”) Galbraith Literary Publishers Incorporated (the “Sponsor”).

By participating in the Prize Draw, you confirm your agreement to these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor and RAVEN5 Ltd. (the “Administrator”). If you do not agree to these Official Rules, you may not enter the Prize Draw.

2.  Eligibility

The Prize Draw is open only to legal residents of Canada (excluding Quebec), the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are at least eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entering the Prize Draw (“you” or “entrant”).

Employees of Sponsor, Administrator and their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising and promotion agencies (collectively the “Prize Draw Parties”), and all respective employees, shareholders, officers, directors, agents, members, licensees, successors and assigns of the foregoing (collectively, the “Released Parties”) and members of their immediate family (spouses, parents, children and siblings) or persons living in the same household are not eligible to participate in this Prize Draw.

The Prize Draw and your entry and participation in it is subject to all applicable federal, state, provincial, municipal, territorial, and local laws and regulations and these Official Rules. By entering, all entrants agree that they have read these Official Rules and agree to abide by and to be bound by the terms and conditions of the Official Rules, and the decisions of Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects. False and/or deceptive entries or acts shall render an entrant ineligible. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. Sponsor reserves the right to verify eligibility requirements. Void where prohibited by law.

3. Entry Period

The Prize Draw begins at 12:00:01 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) on February 6, 2023 and ends at 11:59:59 PM ET on September 6, 2023 (the “Promotion Period”).

Please note that the Promotion Period consists of (i) six (6) monthly entry periods (each a “Monthly Entry Period”), during which entries for the applicable monthly prize must be received; and (ii) a grand prize entry period (the “Grand Prize Entry Period”) during which entries for the grand prizes must be received.

Each entry period has its own entry start date and end date (deadline) as outlined in the Entry Period Schedule below. Entrants will not be entered for a chance to win any prize after the end of its entry period. Eligible entries will roll over into subsequent entry periods, if applicable.

4. How to Enter

There is a total limit of sixty-nine (69) entries per person during the Promotion Period, inclusive of one (1) Opt-In Entry, five (5) Bonus Quiz or Mail-In Entries, and sixty-three (63) Share Entries (all as further outlined below).

To enter the Prize Draw, visit https://whokilledjerusalemprizedraw.com (the “Prize Draw Website”) during the Promotion Period and follow the instructions to complete and submit the online entry form including providing your First and Last Name, Email Address, Phone Number (optional), Date of Birth, Address, City, State or Province, Zip Code or Postal Code, checking the box to confirm that you have read and agree to abide by these Official Rules, and that you have read and agree to the Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, and clicking “ENTER” (the “Opt-In Entry”).

Limit of one (1) Opt-In Entry per person during the Promotion Period.

5. Bonus Quiz Entries and Bonus Mail-In Entries

Bonus Quiz Entries: After completing the Opt-In form, entrants may earn up to five (5) bonus entries for correctly answering five (5) quiz questions pertaining to one (1) of three (3) excerpts from “Who Killed Jerusalem?”. Entrants may select which excerpt they would like to read or listen to from the following options: Plato’s Cave, Sicilian Illusions, or Sexual Satire. Once an excerpt is selected, entrants can read or listen to the excerpt, then click “NEXT” to proceed to the quiz questions. Five (5) quiz questions will be displayed, each relating to the selected excerpt. Each question that an entrant answers correctly will earn the entrant one (1) bonus quiz entry (the “Quiz Entry”) into the Prize Draw.

Bonus Mail-In Entries: Entrants who do not wish to answer the quiz questions may earn five (5) bonus entries by hand printing their First and Last Name, Email Address, Phone Number (optional), Date of Birth, Address, State or Province, Zip Code or Postal Code, and the words: Galbraith Literary Publishers Who Killed Jerusalem? Prize Draw on a 3” x 5” piece of paper and mailing it with sufficient postage in a stamped #10 envelope to: Galbraith Literary Publishers Who Killed Jerusalem? Prize Draw c/o RAVEN5, B9-461 North Service Road W., Oakville, Ontario, L6M 2V5 (each, a “Mail-in Entry”).

Limit of one (1) Mail-in Entry per person during the Promotion Period. A Mail-in Entry earns the entrant five (5) bonus entries into the Prize Draw. All Mail-In Entries must be handwritten and must be postmarked by September 6, 2023 and received by September 11, 2023. No mechanically reproduced Mail-In Entries are permitted. All Mail-in Entries become the exclusive property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. Proof of sending or submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by the Sponsor.

Limit of five (5) Quiz Entries or five (5) Mail-In Entries per person during the Promotion Period.

6. Bonus Share Entries

Entrants will earn:

a) One (1) Share Entry for sharing the Prize Draw on Facebook, limit of one (1) Share Entry per Entry Period for sharing to Facebook. Total limit of seven (7) Share Entries per person during the Promotion Period for sharing to Facebook.

(b) one (1) Share Entry for sharing the Prize Draw on Twitter, limit of one (1) Share Entry per Entry Period for sharing to Twitter. Total limit of seven (7) Share Entries per person during the Promotion Period for sharing to Twitter.

(c) one (1) Share Entry for sharing the Prize Draw on LinkedIn, limit of one (1) Share Entry per Entry Period for sharing to LinkedIn. Total limit of seven (7) Share Entries per person during the Promotion Period for sharing to LinkedIn.

(d) one (1) Share Entry for sharing the Prize Draw on Pinterest, limit of one (1) Share Entry per Entry Period for sharing to Pinterest. Total limit of seven (7) Share Entries per person during the Promotion Period for sharing to Pinterest.

(e) one (1) Share Entry for sharing the Prize Draw by email, limit of five (5) Share Entries per Entry Period for sharing by email. Total limit of thirty (35) Share Entries per person during the Promotion Period for sharing by email.

Limit of nine (9) Share Entries per person per Entry Period. Total limit of sixty-three (63) Share Entries per person during the Promotion Period.

7. Prizes/Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”)/Odds

Monthly Prizes: Six (6) monthly prizes (each, a “Monthly Prize”) are available to be won, each consisting of one (1) $1,000.00 (USD) Visa gift card.


The ARV of each Monthly Prize is $1,000.00 USD. Total ARV of all Monthly Prizes is $6,000.00 USD.

First Grand Prize: One (1) first grand prize (the “First Grand Prize”) is available to be won, consisting of $25,000.00 (USD).


The ARV of the First Grand Prize is $25,000.00 USD.

Second Grand Prize: One (1) second grand prize (the “Second Grand Prize”) is available to be won, consisting of a luxury trip to San Francisco for Second Grand Prize winner and a guest, including:

  • round-trip coach-class airfare for Second Grand Prize winner and one (1) guest (over the age of 18), departing from a major airport located near the Grand Prize winner’s home in the U.S. or Canada (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion) to San Francisco International Airport;
  • hotel accommodations for two (2) nights (single room, double occupancy) (as selected by the Sponsor in its sole discretion) at a hotel in San Francisco, California;
  • a tour of literary San Francisco with one of San Francisco’s Poet Laureates; and
  • $2,000 USD cash.

The ARV of the Second Grand Prize is $15,000.00 USD.

The total ARV of all Prizes available to be won is $46,000.00 USD.

Odds of winning a Monthly Prize depend on the number of eligible entries received for each Monthly Entry Period; Odds of winning the First Grand Prize or the Second Grand Prize depend on the number of eligible entries received for the entire Promotion Period.

Prize Conditions:

Travel, along with hotel accommodations for Second Grand Prize winner and guest to be booked by Sponsor following verification of Second Grand Prize winner. Actual value may vary based on airfare fluctuations and distance between departure airport within the 50 United States, the District of Columbia or Canada and San Francisco, California destination. 

Second Grand Prize winner and his/her guest must travel on the same itinerary.There are no deviations to travel allowed except as approved by Sponsor in its sole discretion. If the Second Grand Prize winner’s residence is in close enough proximity to the destination city, as the Sponsor determines in its sole discretion, the Sponsor may provide ground travel in lieu of air travel.   

Second Grand Prize winner and his/her guest must abide by all venue policies and terms and conditions, Sponsor reserves the right to revoke full or partial prizes from Second Grand Prize winner or his/her guest who it deems, in its sole discretion, may be a safety risk, have violated any policy or law, or may bring the Sponsor into disrepute. All details and other restrictions of prizes not specified in these Official Rules will be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.

Second Grand Prize must be booked and redeemed by September 31, 2024. Availability and blackout dates are the decisions of Sponsor. Second Grand Prize Winner and his/her guest may require a passport valid for at least 6 months on date of travel; any necessary visas or insurance are the responsibility of the Second Grand Prize Winner and his/her guest.

Second Grand Prize must be taken in accordance with government guidelines and COVID-19 rules and restrictions in place at the time of travel, the arrangement and additional costs for any COVID-19 testing, quarantine accommodation or anything else that may be required is the sole responsibility of the Second Grand Prize Winner and his/her guest.

In accepting a prize, winners are responsible for all federal, state, county, local and all other taxes (including income and withholding) on the prize and costs and expenses not specifically listed above as part of the prize including, without limitation, surcharges, service charges, meals, food, beverages, insurance, ground transfers, valid travel documentation, passports, medical/health expenses, gratuities, excess baggage fees, communication charges, and all other personal expenses and incidentals. 

Prize elements are subject to availability and other restrictions. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value if advertised prizes become unavailable. Sponsor’s determinations regarding the awarding of prizes are final. No prize substitutions except as provided herein. Prizes are not transferable and may not be given, bartered, sold, or exchanged for cash or another prize, except at Sponsor’s sole discretion due to prize unavailability for any reason and then only for a prize of equal or greater value.

All details and other restrictions of prizes not specified in these Official Rules will be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Actual value of prizes under this Prize Draw may be lower or higher at the time of its fulfillment, and any difference between actual value and the stated ARV (if actual value is lower than stated ARV) will not be awarded. Each prize ARV represents Sponsor’s good faith determination, is final and binding and cannot be challenged or appealed. Sponsor is not responsible if any element of the prize is delayed, postponed or cancelled for any reason. Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable, and no substitution or cash redemption will be made except as provided herein at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right, for whatever reason, to substitute a prize (or any component thereof) for one of equal or greater value.

Winners must be able to accept the prizes as presented or the respective prize will be forfeited in its entirety and an alternate potential winner may be selected in Sponsor’s sole discretion.   

8. Winner Selection & Notification

Administrator will select all potential winners by random drawings conducted at Administrator’s offices. Administrator’s and Sponsor’s decisions are final. One (1) potential winner will be selected from among all eligible entries received during each Entry Period. The random drawings will be held on or about the dates specified in the Drawing Date and Notification Date Schedule below.

Potential Winner Notification: Sponsor will contact all potential winners by email using the email address submitted by each potential winner at the time of entry. Administrator will contact the potential winners on or about the dates specified in the Drawing Date and Notification Date Schedule above.

For all potential winners, Administrator will make a minimum of two (2) attempts to contact each eligible winner within forty-eight (48) hours of the Approximate Notification Date.

Additional Requirements to Win:

Potential winners will become confirmed winners (each a “Winner”) after meeting the requirements that follow. Failure to do so will result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected by the means set forth above.

Potential winners will be required to sign and return, within seventy-two (72) hours of notification and if provided by Sponsor, an Affidavit of Eligibility & Liability, and where allowable, a Publicity Release (collectively, the “Releases”) as a condition of acceptance of a prize.

If any potential winner is a resident of Canada, he or she will be required to correctly answer a time-limited skill-testing question without any assistance in order to become a Winner. The

skill-testing question may be part of the Releases or may be provided separately.

If any potential winner is a resident of the United States or the District of Colombia, he or she will be required to complete a W9 IRS tax form (the “W9”), which will require the potential winner to furnish his/her TIN for the sole purpose of tax reporting, as required by law. All completed Releases and W9s (if applicable) must be received by Administrator by the date and time provided in the respective notifications.

If any potential winner cannot be contacted within seventy-two (72) hours of initial notification, after two attempts, as described above, including if there is a return of any notification as undeliverable; then he/she may, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor, be disqualified (and, if disqualified, will forfeit any and all rights to the applicable prize) and the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion to randomly select an alternate eligible entrant for the applicable prize in a separate random drawing from the remaining eligible entries submitted and received in accordance with these Official Rules.

No one is a Winner unless and until the Sponsor officially confirms him/her as a Winner in accordance with and as described in these Official Rules. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant or potential winner based on the results of any verification conducted at any time during the Prize Draw.

9. Release; Indemnification; Disclaimer of Warranty

By participating in the Prize Draw, all entrants agree to forever and irrevocably release and hold harmless the Released Parties from any and all liability for any loss, harm, damage, injury, cost or expense of any nature whatsoever (including attorneys’ fees) (collectively, “Losses“) which may occur in connection with (a) the Prize Draw or any element thereof, including entry or participation therein, (b) delivery, possession, acceptance and/or use or misuse of any prize or component thereof, or (c) participation in any Prize Draw-related activity or prize-related activity including without limitation in each case any Losses that may be caused or contributed to by (1) any wrongful, negligent or unauthorized act or omission on the part of any of the Released Parties, or any of their independent contractors or any other person or entity not an employee of any of the Released Parties, or (2) any other cause, condition or event whatsoever beyond the control of any of the Released Parties. In addition, by participating in this Prize Draw, each Entrant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all damages, losses, costs and expenses (including amounts paid in settlement and reasonable attorneys’ fees) incurred by any of the Released Parties in connection with any third-party claim, demand, liability, suit, proceeding or action arising out of or resulting from (i) breach or alleged breach of any representations, warranties or agreements of entrant hereunder, or (ii) entrant’s possession, use or misuse of any prize or component thereof.

Each entrant hereby acknowledges that the Released Parties have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize (or any components thereof) and that, except as prohibited by applicable law, prizes are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, either express or implied. Released Parties hereby disclaim all such warranties, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and/or non-infringement.  

10. Publicity

Except where legally prohibited, participation in the Prize Draw constitutes entrants’ consent to the Prize Draw Parties’, use of entrants’ names, likenesses, photographs, videos, voices, opinions and/or hometowns & states/territories for promotional purposes in any media now known or hereafter devised, worldwide, without further payment or consideration, notice, review, or approval.

11. General

All decisions of Sponsor in connection with this Prize Draw shall be binding and final in all respects. Sponsor reserves the right to terminate, cancel, suspend and/or modify the Prize Draw, if intervening circumstances warrant, within Sponsor’s sole discretion, due to any fraud, virus or other technical problem which corrupts the administration, security, or proper entry or voting into the Prize Draw, or for any other reason. In such event, Sponsor reserves the right to award the prizes from among the eligible Entries received up to the time of the termination, cancellation, suspension and/or modification. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry or voting process or the operation of the Prize Draw or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Prize Draw may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term or provision of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that term or provision.

12. Limitation of Liability

Without limiting anything set forth above in these Official Rules, Released Parties shall not have any obligation, responsibility or liability, including any obligation or responsibility to provide a prize to any Winner, with regard to: (a) Entries entered through the use of any robotic or automated device/computer program or any other non-human mechanism, entity, or device; (b) Entries in excess of the stated Submission limit; (c) Entries that are illegible, late, forged, destroyed, lost, misplaced, stolen, misdirected, tampered with, incomplete, deleted, damaged, garbled, altered or otherwise not in compliance with or in violation of these Official Rules, whether caused by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Prize Draw or any other reason beyond Released Parties’ control; (d) any technical or human error which may occur in the creation, submission, assignment or processing of entries in the Prize Draw, including any technical or human error in connection with any social media platforms, Prize Draw Website and/or the hosting thereof; (e) Entries, prize claims or notifications that are not received by the intended recipient due to transmission, technical, computer or human failures or error of any kind, including any Entries, prize claims or notifications that are delayed, misdirected, or undelivered as a result of any failure or problem with the availability, functionality, operability or use of any network, server, ISP, website (including the Prize Draw Website), computer, internet connection, hand-held mobile device, social media platform, or any other equipment or connection used in connection with the Prize Draw; (f) changes in an entrant’s information which affects the ability to contact such entrant; (g) typographical errors in Prize Draw promotional material; (h) cancellations and/or delays or any change by any company or any other persons providing any of components of the prizes due to reasons beyond the control of any of the Released Parties; (i) any interruptions/postponement/cancellation of Prize Draw; (j) human error; incorrect or inaccurate transcription of Submission information; (k) any technical malfunctions of the computer on-line system, computer dating mechanism, computer equipment, software, any social media platform, or internet service provider utilized by any of the Released Parties or by entrants; (l) interruption or inability to access the Prize Draw, any Prize Draw-related Web pages (including the Prize Draw Website), any social media platform, or any on-line service via the Internet due to hardware or software compatibility problems; (m) any damage to Entrant’s, or Voter’s (or any third person’s) computer and/or its contents related to or resulting from any part of the Prize Draw; (n) any lost/delayed data transmissions, omissions, interruptions, defects; and/or (o) any other errors or malfunctions, even if caused by the negligence of any one or more of the Released Parties.

13. Disputes

Any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Prize Draw or any prize awarded shall be resolved exclusively by the appropriate federal or state court located in Wyoming, U.S.A., and all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrants and Sponsor in connection with the Prize Draw, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Wyoming, U.S.A. without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of Wyoming, U.S.A. or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Wyoming, U.S.A;  Except where prohibited by law, all entrants agree that (i) any and all such disputes, claims, and causes of action shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; (ii) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Prize Draw, but in no event attorneys’ fees; (iii) under no circumstances will entrants be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrants hereby waive all rights to claim, indirect, punitive, incidental, consequential and/or any other damages, other than actual out-of-pocket expenses; (iv) they waive any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased; (v) they irrevocably consent to the personal jurisdiction of the aforesaid courts, as applicable to each such Entrant or Voter, and waive any claim of forum non conveniens or lack of personal jurisdiction that they may have; and (vi) if any provision of these Official Rules is declared invalid or unenforceable, such provision will be deemed modified to the extent necessary and possible to render it valid and enforceable, and that in any event, the unenforceability or invalidity of any provision will not affect any other provision of these Official Rules, and these Official Rules will continue in full force and effect, and be construed and enforced, as if such provision had not been included, or had been modified as described above, as the case may be.  

14. Privacy

Information collected through the administration of the Prize Draw is subject to and may be used and shared by Sponsor, including in connection with Sponsor’s administration of this Prize Draw to notify potential winners, verify and confirm winners, and to fulfill prizes, in accordance with Sponsor’s Privacy Policy at https://whokilledjerusalemprizedraw.com/privacy and applicable law.

Personal information collected will be stored on servers located in the United States and may be accessible to U.S. law enforcement, courts and other governmental institutions pursuant to the laws of the United States. 

15. Winners List Requests

For a list of the winners (available after September 20, 2023) including first name, last initial, and state/territory of residence, send an email to help@raven5.com with subject line: Galbraith Literary Publishers Who Killed Jerusalem? Prize Draw Winners List Request. Winners list requests must be received no later than November 20, 2023.
